Part II
Course Aims: This course aims to enable students to use interdisciplinary approach to explain behaviours and phenomenon during childhood and adolescence and address the characteristics, core concerns, issues & special needs in the ecological systems of family, peer-groups, school, and other sociocultural contexts.

Describe the TLAs:
TLA1: Lecture Introducing theoretical perspectives to the understanding of development through childhood to adolescence.
TLA 2: Group discussions/observations Students will be in groups of 4-6 throughout the course, for group discussions and observations (video and real life situations);
TLA 3: Group Presentation Students will report selected topics and lead discussions on the topic in class. TLA 4: Video DemonstrationVideo materials will be used to demonstrate interesting issues and phenomena related to child and adolescent development.

Further description of ATs:
AT 1: Quiz (35%) Students are required to answer questions in various formats (e.g., MC, Matching, T/F) to demonstrate their understanding of the theories, issues, and concerns throughout childhood and adolescence. AT 2: Group presentation (20%) Students are required to work on specific topics in small groups and present their work to the class. AT 3: Portfolio (35%) Students are required to work individually on the life history of them or their family members; the development and intergenerational issues arise; describe the details of selected events, analyse and explain the phenomena based on relevant theories and literature. AT 4: Participation (10%) Students are required to participate actively in group discussion and share their own opinions and experiences. Major findings and consensus arising from the discussion should be written down on provided worksheets and handed in for grading.
Grading of Student Achievement: | Standards (A+AA-…F). Grading is based on student performance in assessment tasks/activities.
