IS5415 Advanced Data Management for eCommerce

Course Aims & Objectives:
This course aims to introduce methods and techniques for advanced database applications in eCommerce. It covers advanced database models and design techniques for eCommerce database applications. On completion of the module, students should be able to a) design database applications for eCommerce using advanced data modelling techniques such as semantic and object-oriented database models; b) choose suitable database models and architectures for implementation of eCommerce database applications; c) design architectures for distributed database applications; and d) implement security and integrity constraints and perform query optimisation.
