DCO20212 Environmental Impact and Sustainability
Credit Units: 3 Level: A2 Medium of Instruction: English Course Aims: This course introduces students to the foundations of environmental issues, current and emerging issues, and their impacts. It involves an interdisciplinary examination of some fundamental environmental problems faced by individuals and communities. This course also aims to cover the environmental justices, social responsibility, and economics, legal and institutional requirements for environmental protection. Course Intended Learning Outcomes (CILOs) Upon successful completion of this course, students should be able to: | 1. | describe the environmental problems, environmental sustainability and environmental quality, and their impacts; | | 2. | explain the environmental economics, environmental justices, law and legislation, and relate them to environmental policy and planning; | | 3. | describe the green consumerism and purchasing and relate to the practices in manufacturing; and | | 4. | use the best practices in corporate social responsibility in green business. |
