CTL2509 History and Heritage
Part I No. CILOs Weighting 1. Discuss both the concept of heritage and its relationship to the past and the subject of history. 2. Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of the historical development of the main civilizations in East Asia and their heritages. 3. Assess critically the historical accuracy of what is presented to the public at heritage sites. 4 Show an understanding of the varieties of approaches to understanding, constructing and interpreting the past. Teaching and learning Activities (TLAs) CILO No TLAs Hours/week CILO 1-4 Lectures will introduce the background, context and development of heritage and the relationship between heritage and history. CILO 1-4 Group discussion, presentations and debates will involve students in active learning through interaction and reflection. There will be fieldtrips to local museums and site visits of historical heritage in Hong Kong.
