Part II

Course Aims:

This course aims to increase the breadth of outlook of students in computer related topics.  This is the first of a series of Seminar based courses and topics presented will be related to level B2 taught courses.

Upon completion, students should be able to:

1.    know the current trends and activities in computer related professions and academic research;

2.   acquire knowledge through self-motivated, continuous and outside-class-room learning.

Teaching pattern:
Suggested lecture/tutorial/laboratory mix: 5 hours Seminar
Approximately one seminar would be arranged by the department per month and students have to attend at least 5 seminars.

Keyword Syllabus:

Selected topics presented in the format of seminar.  Example topics are : computer architecture development; computer application systems in large corporations; product and research trends.
