CS2473 End User Design and Construction of Computer Systems

Course Aims & Objectives: 
To give end users of computing systems enough technical knowledge and skills so they can act as effective members of computer systems design and construction teams. Students will be introduced to programming concepts, systems analysis and user interface design within the context of their discipline.

Application prototyping, user interface design, testing, evaluation, programming concepts, algorithms, basic computer hardware and data communications, input/output devices, use of 4GL, systems analysis and design, specifications, end user programming, impact of computer systems.

Assessment Pattern:
Examination duration: 2 hours
Percentage distribution of marks for coursework, examination, other: 30% CW; 70% Exam.
Grading pattern: Standard (A+AA-...F)
For a student to pass the course, at least 30% of the maximum mark for the examination must be obtained.
