Course Aims & Objectives:
This course aims to introduce the many applications offered by the Information Superhighway. The emphasis is on the practical aspects rather than the technicalities. 

On the completion of this course, students should be able to:

  1. understand the background and some of design philosophy of Internet;
  2. seek the relevant information; and
  3. to build his/her home page.

Exploring the Net. What is the Internet? Finding information on the internet. News group & gopher. Telnet. Building simple Internet Home Page. Applications: shopping, video conferencing and distance learning.
